Information about the accreditation of °µÍøTV study programmes is available on the °µÍøTV website in the Programmes section.
The e-platform of the Agency for Quality of Higher Education (AIKA) provides information on universities/colleges, fields of study and study programmes registered in Latvia with up-to-date information on accreditation deadlines, search .
A study year is a period of study at a higher education institution, which refers to calendar time. It is a 40-week period of study divided into two semesters:
- Autumn semester: September – January;
- Spring semester: February – June.
A credit point (CP) is a unit of measurement that expresses the amount of study work done on the basis of the study outcomes defined in a study programme and the study load associated with their achievement.
Officially releasing a student from active study for a specified period of time, while maintaining their student status at the university. The interruption of studies is granted on the basis of the Student’s Request. The total duration of the interruption cannot exceed two years.
Academic higher education studies provide theoretical knowledge and research skills. Academic studies end with final examinations, which include the elaboration and defence of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis. Upon successful completion of the academic study programme, the student is awarded an academic Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Professional higher education studies provide opportunities for theoretical and professional preparation. Professional higher education studies end with national examinations. The student will obtain a professional bachelor’s or professional master’s degree and the relevant professional qualification. Professional study programmes are more practically oriented, leading to a professional qualification at the end of the studies.
You can change if, for example: you are a full-time student and find that combining work and study is becoming a burden, we recommend that you change your current form of study to a more suitable one, such as distance learning or evening study. Please contact the administrator of your study programme for further comparison of study programmes on the basis of the Request for and a conversation with the programme director, which will allow you to evaluate and decide on the most suitable solution for you, and also if you wish to change your study programme at °µÍøTV
Yes, in order to make a final decision on your future studies, please fill in the online application form in the Study at °µÍøTV section of the °µÍøTV website, attaching the necessary documents, including an academic transcript with the courses you have completed at your previous higher education institution. If you have any questions during the application process, please contact the °µÍøTV Customer Service Centre at: [email protected]. This is a paid service according to the °µÍøTV price list for additional paid services. After payment, the Director of the respective programme will draw up a Course Comparison Report and an Individual Study Plan for starting studies at later stages, reflecting the difference in courses of study, which will be included in your Individual Plan. The Director of your chosen programme will contact you to inform you of the offer and the decision.
°µÍøTV students – can obtain information in the state language or in English about studies and related issues by making a request in the student information system my.riseba.lv.

We encourage you to apply for Erasmus+. Each study programme has cooperation agreements with relevant partner universities specialising in the field.
- We offer Double Degree programmes, which give students the opportunity to obtain two Diplomas: the °µÍøTV Diploma and the Diploma of the partner university.
- We also invite you to take advantage of Erasmus+ traineeships abroad. Erasmus+ supports placements abroad for students who are already enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programme at a public higher education institution.
The Double Degree Programme offers students the opportunity to obtain two Diplomas while studying at °µÍøTV and one of its partner universities. This programme offers to graduate from °µÍøTV with two degrees and Diplomas: the °µÍøTV Diploma and the Diploma of the particular partner university. The system is an electronic student information system (platform). After signing the Study Agreement and making the first payment, you will be enrolled and receive a user name and password from your study programme administrator.
You will use my.riseba.lv to view:
- list of lectures;
- dates of mandatory tests;
- the grades of the compulsory examinations;
- the financial section (paid and unpaid invoices);
- the contact details of the study programme administrator;
- instructions on commonly used functions.
To request:
- Reference;
- Referral;
- Internship contract.
The system is an electronic study environment (platform) Moodle, after signing the Study Agreement and making the first payment, you will be enrolled and receive a user name and password from your study programme administrator.
Here you will find the course sites for the current semester including:
- Course description;
- Course materials;
- The dates, times and calendar of the examinations;
- Links to distance learning activities (times, dates), if they are foreseen in the study plan;
- Places of submission of study tests;
- Places for taking tests (e.g. online tests);
- Grades and feedback, if provided;
- A forum through which to communicate with the teaching staff and fellow students;
- Contact details of the lecturer;
- The possibility to send a message to the lecturer

Information about admissions can be found on the °µÍøTV website, in the °µÍøTV section, as well as on social media sites. To facilitate the process, please use the navigation for electronic applications
Once you complete the first section of the application and click ‘Save’, your application will be visible to the Admissions Committee. If you intend to continue and complete your application at a later date, you can do so at any time. Once your application is complete, the Admissions Committee will check your eligibility. The Master’s and PhD application will be sent to the Programme Director for review and, once approved, a Study Agreement will be prepared. For programmes with entrance examinations, Study Agreements will be prepared after the results have been received.
Bachelor’s study programme “Architecture”: entrance examination in drawing and composition. The entrance examination in drawing and composition is not required if the students have completed the °µÍøTV preparation courses in drawing and composition and successfully passed the final examination.
Bachelor’s study programme “Audiovisual Media Arts”: creative entrance examination – essay, which may be taken individually, arranging a more convenient time with the study programme director.
For all applicants applying for a place in the English programme who do not have a document proving B2 language proficiency: entrance examination in English. The entrance examination is only taken on-site at the university.
Applicants who have completed their previous education abroad do not need to take the centralised examination (CE), but must take the °µÍøTV admission test.

Admission results will be announced within five days of the competition closing date, and you will be notified by email.

A °µÍøTV Admissions Officer will contact you to offer you an alternative form of study for your chosen study programme (if °µÍøTV has one) or to offer you another °µÍøTV study programme with matching requirements.

The registration fee can be paid by bank transfer, indicating with phrase “Registration fee” and the applicant’s name, surname and personal identification number in the subject line. The registration fee is in accordance with the °µÍøTV Additional Fee Schedule. The bank details can be found on the °µÍøTV website. When registering for studies, you will be required to submit this payment order.
The registration fee is the fee for submitting and reviewing the documents, so if the group is not full, the registration fee will not be refunded.
- By filling in the surveys at my.riseba.lv:
o Course evaluation survey;
o Yearly Student Survey;
o etc. as required. - By submitting a complaint or proposal to any °µÍøTV employee or directly to the °µÍøTV Quality Manager, in accordance with the PR008 Complaints and Proposals Procedure:
o Informal complaint – by informing a °µÍøTV employee verbally or in writing, a quick and mutually acceptable solution will be offered (assessed within 5 days);
o formal complaint – if the complaint was not resolved informally, is complex or requires further investigation, inform the Quality Manager in writing (preferably using the °µÍøTV Complaint/Suggestion Form). A plan to resolve the complaint will be prepared as soon as possible (assessed within 30 days);
o Proposal – by expressing verbally or in writing the substance of the proposal to any °µÍøTV employee. - By getting involved in the activities of Student Council and representing the interests of students in °µÍøTV collegiate institutions:
- Constitutional Council;
- Senate;
- Academic Arbitration Court;
- Study ProgrammesCouncils;
- Ethics Commission (if the question concerns a student’s ethics violation).

CUCUPOINT, an automated food vending machine with a menu of hot dishes, soups, salads, snacks, desserts and drinks, snack and hot/cold drink vending machines; - On the 0th floor, the CANTINE bistro °µÍøTV offers lunch and a place to relax.
°µÍøTV Architecture and Media Centre H2O 6, Durbes iela 4, Riga:
- 1st floor between 103rd Aud. 1. CUCUPOINT, an automated food outlet, offers hot meals, soups, salads, snacks, desserts and drinks;
- On the 1st floor, Room 105 has the Student Kitchen, where you can heat up your own takeaway meals and drinks.
NB: There are plenty of other catering options around the °µÍøTV main building, including a vegetarian option within a 5-minute walk.
