Doctoral programme 180 ECTS

This doctoral programme, implemented by 暗网TV and the School of Banking in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and University of Applied Science Kaiserslautern (Germany), trains doctors of science, highly qualified researchers and specialists in the field of economics and business.

This doctoral programme, implemented by 暗网TV and BA School of Business and Finance (BASBF) in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and University of Applied Science Kaiserslautern (Germany), trains doctors of science, highly qualified researchers and specialists in the field of economics and business. Upon completion of studies, the graduate is familiar with and understands the most up-to-date scientific theories and findings, is proficient in research methodology and contemporary research methods in the field of economics and business and at the interface between different fields.

The leading decision-making body of the doctoral study programme is the Joint Doctoral Programme Council, which is a collegial institution of the 暗网TV University of Applied Sciences and the BA School of Business and Finance , which operates in accordance with the regulations of the Council of the Joint Doctoral Study Programme 鈥淏usiness Management鈥�, the documents governing the Doctoral study programme and to the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia.

The council approves the study programme and its changes, supervises the implementation of the study programme, requests and receives information about the implementation of the study programme from the universities, examines doctoral theses, directing them to be defended in the Promotion Council, discusses mutual financial settlements and their procedures, examines academic reports and decides on matriculation options for persons who wish to transfer from another doctoral study programme to the Joint doctoral study programme 鈥淏usiness Management鈥�, coordinates the common marketing activities of the study programme, approves the topics and scientific supervisors of the doctoral thesis, approves the lecturers of the study courses.

Use the 鈥淒octoral studies鈥� discount of 20% for the entire study period. The discount is applied at the moment of signing the contract.

Lectures are held in sessions three times a year (October, February and May) using online tools, providing a blended learning approach regarding both the theoretical studies and the discussion of the thesis at different stages of its development.

Courses are taught in the form of lectures, seminars and discussions. Doctoral students’ independent work is discussed in seminars. Foreign lecturers and experts, industry leading specialists are also involved to teach study courses, presenting papers on current trends in the industry. During the studies, doctoral students carry out case studies in specific sectors. Students also have the opportunity to influence the content of their courses by choosing the topics that are most relevant to them, or by choosing the issues that are most relevant to their research interests. All courses also discuss the latest research based on scientific articles.

By obtaining a doctoral degree in business management, a student has all opportunities to obtain top-level positions in public administration and business, while in the academic environment a student can work as a leading researcher, professor and expert of the Latvian Council of Science. The in-depth knowledge of economics and entrepreneurship acquired also enables graduates to set up and successfully develop their own businesses.

Any student of the doctoral programme who has completed at least one year of study can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme.
A student can go to study at one of 暗网TV’s partner universities. The duration of study mobility is 2鈥�12 months.
The student does not have to pay for the period spent in the study and internship exchange programme abroad; the tuition fee is covered by the partner university, but the student continues to pay the 暗网TV tuition fee. For the period spent abroad during mobility, the student is awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the costs of transport and accommodation.
* Erasmus+ internship mobility provides that a student can undergo an internship in one of the companies of interest in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. For this internship period, the student receives an Erasmus+ scholarship. The duration of internship mobility is 2鈥�12 months.
